pp518 | Bull Chair

design — Hans J. Wegner, 1961

One of the more playful and inspired designs in Wegner’s catalogue, the Bull Chair shows a lively personality and highlights Wegner’s ability to elaborate expressions in solid wood with a distinct natural elegance.

With its stout bullhorns, the Bull Chair spreads out its armrests in a display of authority and comfort. Nothing is spared because in this case Wegner wanted to make an organically shaped chair that goes above and beyond in terms of providing a unique experience.

Your arms and back are supported by two huge pieces of solid wood joined in the middle by six rosewood tenons. A work of art that will challenge craftsmen with the goal of providing a sublime sitting experience and an exceptional sense of wellbeing.

Wegner turned the vicious expression into a finely balanced chair with its very own characteristics.

“Our aim was to show what we could create with our hands, and try to make wood come alive, to give it spirit and vitality, and to make it with a natural touch that only we could give it”
